Do You Need a Pleasure Craft Operator Card?

All operators of powered watercraft used for recreational purposes within BC, Canada now require a Pleasure Craft Operator Card.

Boaters are now required to have the Pleasure Craft Operator Card – Boaters Licence in order to operate a powered watercraft. There is no grandfather clause or age exemption – this law applies to all boaters. Powered watercraft includes watercraft fitted with any size motor – even a trolling motor.

The rules imposed by the United States Dec 2 2021 requiring a test 24hours before flying to the USA do not apply at the land border.

The Government of Canada will remove pre entry test requirement for fully vaccinated travellers on April  1 2022

Red Rock Inspection Station CVSE officers removed this unsafe commercial truck from #BCHwy97 this week after finding multiple Out of Service violations:
- Missing wheel fasteners

Ham Radio Licence ICBC issues ham plates with assigned radio call signs to certified amateur radio operators. Ham plates make it easy to identify amateur radio operators so that they can assist ​with emergency communications in the event of a natural disaster. 2m band National Simplex Frequency (also referred to as the calling frequency) is 146.52 MHz. 70cm use 446.00 MHz.
